Meet Phil Budden, Britain's Consul-General for New England

In 1711, the residents of Needham were loyal subjects of Queen Anne, the last of the Stuart monarchs, and Needhamites probably thought their political allegiance would never change. On Thursday, Nov. 3, at 7:30 p.m., hear about the continuing relationship between Needham and her mother country. Phil Budden, Britain's Consul-General for New England, will talk about the strong relationship built on historic, business and cultural connections.

Before becoming a diplomat, Budden earned his doctorate in contemporary history and international political economy from Oxford University, an MA in American history and government from Cornell University and his BA/MA in British and European history from Oxford University.
