Needham 300 Town-Wide Block Party

Every year many Needham neighbors come together to celebrate with annual block parties. In 2010, there were 62. This year, Needham 300 is encouraging those who hold annual block parties, and even those who don’t, to schedule them all for the same day in one big town wide block party.

Celebrate Needham’s 300th Birthday by holding your neighborhood’s block party on “Needham Block Party Day”, Saturday, September 10, and then joining us at Memorial Park at 7 pm for a rousing band concert by the US Air Force Band of Liberty. The band is made possible by the generous sponsorship of the law firm Kertzman and Weil of Wellesley. Firm partner Amy Weil is a Needham resident and parent of two Needham High students.

It’s hoped all the neighborhoods will come together as one community and enjoy the wonderful concert afterward.

As an added enticement, our Town Criers will stop by your block party to bring greetings from Needham 300!

Please remember to submit your block party request form to the town offices three weeks in advance of Sept. 10, before Aug. 20.

For further inquiries about Needham 300 Block Party Day, please contact Jane Howard at jhoward@mountida.edu or Ann Cosgrove at eacosgrove@rcn.com.

We look forward to seeing you on Sept. 10, 2011 and many other planned Needham 300 events throughout the year.
