Parent Talk, a nonprofit, volunteer organization in Boston’s Metrowest area that supports families with young children, will host a lecture for parents and educators with psychologist and author Professor Maria Trozzi, M.Ed.,on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the auditorium in Needham (dessert reception at 7:00 p.m.).
In this not-to-be-missed forum titled “Helping Children Develop Resilience As They Cope With Life’s Stresses,” Trozzi will explore the typical and not-so-typical speed bumps that children and adolescents may encounter growing up in today's complicated world. When children or adolescents face these speed bumps, parents need words, a developmentally informed approach, and their confidence shored up as they support their son or daughter during difficult times. Trozzi’s refreshing and honest approach focuses on strategies that are often counterintuitive for parents, but truly help children master coping skills that promote resilience.
