Powered by the People: A Concert to Benefit LowRes

On January 14 & 16, 24 teen bands participating in the Needham-based Plugged In Teen Band Program will be performing at "Powered by the People": a benefit concert for LowRes, the clean energy, bicycle powered sound and light system.

Along with the teen bands, Boston band, Melodeego, featuring Plugged In instructor Greg Reinauer on bass and vocals, will be performing.  As the concert will be powered by LowRes, many people are needed to come to the concert and pedal!

Melodeego, which means “Music In Action," has been raising money and supporting LowRes. The band has been involved in the grassroots environmental movement for years and have channeled all they have seen and heard into their music.  Combining the funk and wisdom of the early soul masters, with the drive and power of rock, Melodeego has created it's own distinctive Soul N Roll sound. Their passion for music, paired with their desire to end the injustice to all humanity and the earth, has driven them to empower a generation into action towards a fair, lasting future for all.  The result is a stage show that tells the story of a generation taking on the  greatest challenges in history.  The experience has the energy that can only be generated by a growing  global movement of awakened spirits seizing the opportunity for a just, meaningful and lasting society.
