Sports Illustrated's Ian Thomsen Speaks

The Temple Aliyah Men's Club Annual Paid-Up Supper will feature a great speaker. Sports Illustrated Senior Writer Ian Thomsen, one of SI's top basketball writers, will join us Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m. at Temple Aliyah, 1664 Central Ave., Needham.

A resident of the Boston area, Ian will give us his insights on the 2010-2011 Celtics season as well as the inside scoop on the current NBA season.

Along with writing columns and features for SI, Thomsen is a frequent contributor to SI.com, writing for "Inside the NBA." Before joining SI, Thomsen spent six years in Europe as the sports columnist for the International Herald Tribune, the world's largest international English-language daily. While at the paper, Thomsen covered a wide array of sports, such as soccer, tennis, track, basketball and golf. He also has covered major events, including the 1994 World Cup, the 1996 Olympics and the 1995 Rugby World Cup. Thomsen, who graduated from Northwestern with a journalism degree in 1983, has also worked for The Boston Globe and was a feature writer for The National.
