This March 2012, Blue on Highland is playing host to “Mad Men,” the Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning drama that has taken audiences by storm. If you pine for the days of fedoras, pillbox hats, pocket squares and opera gloves, of scotch at the office, power lunches and Manhattan nightcaps, join Blue on Highland on Thursday, March 8th, 2012 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM for a cocktail party celebrating the return of the hit series and honoring The Unofficial Mad Men Cookbook written by local authors and Needham, MA, residents, Judy Gelman and Peter Zheutlin.
Blue on Highland will be serving cocktails and complimentary hors d'oeuvres taken straight from Gelman and Zheutlin’s cookbook, all of which are a reincarnation of the popular drinks and dishes enjoyed by Don Draper, Roger Sterling, Peggy Olson and Joan Holloway. The Unofficial Mad Men Cookbook serves up more than 70 recipes, and invites fans into the culinary world of Man Men-era New York. As guests munch on the 1960’s inspired food and drink, they’ll have a chance to meet the authors and purchase a signed copy of their cookbook (available for $16.95 at Blue on Highland) while Mad Men episodes run in the background. The event is free with RSVP to press@blueonhighland.com, and includes complimentary passed hors d’oeuvres. Cocktails and a copy of the cookbook will be available for purchase.
The new season of Mad Men begins March 25th, but don't wait for the fun to start. Enjoy a decadent evening reliving one of America's most thrilling eras and leave with a culinary parting gift that will let your taste buds travel back in time over and over again.
