The Yellow Dress (Rescheduled)

The performance of The Yellow Dress has been rescheduled to Feb. 7 from 7 – 8 p.m. at the Broadmeadow Performance Center for parents and guardians of High School Juniors and Seniors.

The Yellow Dress is a dramatic one-woman play based on the stories of young women who were victims of dating violence. This carefully constructed program stimulates thought-provoking discussion about relationships; a topic important to every young person’s life. Audiences are clearly moved by the story of a young woman who warmly tells us of her relationship that begins as young love, full of passion and promise — and ends in tragedy.

The Yellow Dress program includes discussion guides and resource materials to help students and adults recognize the early warning signs of abuse, learn how to help friends/family members who are victims or perpetrators of abuse, understand the cycle of abuse, and access and utilize community resources.

The program lasts approximately 1 hour for performance and discussion, and includes a performance, and post-show discussion. The program is being shown to the students during the day at the High School on February 7th. We believe that this will be a good opportunity for parents to see the presentation and have a meaningful dialogue with their son or daughter.

This presentation is performed through Deana’s Educational Theater and sponsored by the Needham Domestic Violence Action Committee.
