Fence Fire, OUI, And More: Needham Police Log

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

November 10

1:30 p.m. - A Maple Street resident came into the station to report fraudulent charges made on his Health Equity Account. The victim stated that his wife tried to use her health care debit card at CVS and it was declined. He stated that the card was declined because the account was frozen.

6:30 p.m. - An officer was conducting selective traffic enforcement on Hunting Road and stopped a vehicle with no rear registration plate affixed. Following a brief investigation the operator, a 20-year-old from Worcester, was issued a summons for uninsured operation of a motor vehicle.

November 11

12:50 p.m. - A resident of Mallard Road reported he received a fraudulent email asking for a money transfer. His bank and FBI are investigating.

1:39 p.m. - An officer responded to a Webster Street address for a report of a fire alarm activation. On arrival with the Needham Fire Department, it was determined that the resident had been cooking when olive oil caught fire in the kitchen. The resident was able to extinguish the fire. There was moderate damage to the kitchen area.

3:40 p.m. - Needham police and fire responded to a Carlton Drive residence for the report of a broken pipe. Access was gained to the residence and the water was shut off.

November 12

5:00 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to a Gould Street address for a report of a fence that was on fire. Upon arrival, firefighters were in the process of extinguishing a small pile of leaves that had caught fire in the side yard.

8:00 p.m. - An officer responded to a West Street address for the report of a one-car crash. After further investigation one of the operators, Laurent Frederico, 43, of Randolph, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration.
