Hearing Set For Needham Nursing Home Closure
Kindred Healthcare's Needham nursing home and assisted living facility are scheduled to close within a few months.
NEEDHAM, MA — Residents concerned with the closing of Avery Manor and Avery Crossing will have a chance to be heard Wednesday afternoon.
A public hearing is planned for 2 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel on Cabot Street, according to the board of health. and Kindred Living-Needham Heights are among the closures announced earlier this month.
In a statement given to reporters, Kindred spokeswoman Susan Moss said, "This has not been an easy decision for any of the parties or individuals involved."

Per state law, a public hearing must be held and the homes are responsible for finding new places for their residents.
