Heroin Possession, Email Scam, And More: Needham Police Log

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

August 31

12:00 p.m. - A motor vehicle was stopped on Charles River Street near Locust Lane. As a result of the stop, a 32-year-old Boston man was issued a summons for speeding, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and attaching plates.

September 1

5:45 p.m. - An officer conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of a 2nd Avenue hotel. After further investigation it was determined that the operator was driving with a revoked license. The operator, a 28-year old-Boston man, was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license and texting while driving.

10:00 p.m. - An officer pulled over a vehicle on Wexford Street. After a brief investigation the operator, Robert Kalin, 51, of Boston, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and possession of crack cocaine. The passenger, Alicia Lavallee, 29, of Boston, was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and possession of crack cocaine.

4:30 p.m. - A Coulton Park resident told police that their identity was compromised. The victim received a fraudulent email from Apple and gave out some of her personal information before realizing email was a scam. The victim has notified their bank and credit card companies.

9:10 p.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle on Highland Avenue near 1st Avenue. The operator, a 46-year-old Needham man, was cited operating with a suspended license.
