Highland Avenue To Close This Weekend

The on-ramp will be closed due to ongoing construction operations as part of the Add-A-Lane project.

NEEDHAM, MA — Beginning at 10 p.m. July 21, and lasting through p.m. July 23, the on-ramp from Highland Avenue eastbound to Interstate-95/Route 128 northbound in Needham will be closed due to ongoing construction operations as part of the Add-A-Lane project.

All travel lanes on I-95/Rt. 128 in this area will remain open during these operations and appropriate signage and police details will be present to guide traffic to the detour routes on local roadways.

Drivers on Highland Avenue eastbound seeking to access I-95/Rt. 128 northbound will utilize the following detour route:

  • Continue on Highland Avenue past the closed on-ramp
  • Turn left at Oak Street
  • Turn left at Chestnut Street
  • Travel under Route 9
  • Immediately turn left at the on-ramp for Route 9 Westbound
  • Take the on-ramp for I-95/Route 128 Northbound (toward Peabody)

Drivers are advised to follow signs when traveling through this area and are encouraged to seek alternate routes to reach destinations. All operations are weather dependent, and in case of inclement weather, operations will shift to the weekend of July 28.
