Hit-And-Run, Warrant Arrest: Needham Police Log

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

January 14

4:30 p.m. - An officer took a report from a walk-in at the station of a past hit and run on Charles River Street.

8:40 p.m. - An officer responded to an Edgewater Drive address for a possible incident of identity fraud. The reporting party was advised of their possible courses of action. The incident is still under investigation.

January 15

6:00 p.m. - Officers responded to a Pine Street address for a suspicious person. The matter remains under investigation.

8:40 a.m. - An off-duty officer on a private detail observed a vehicle operating on Chestnut Street erratically. The vehicle pulled into a parking lot where the officer identified himself to the occupants. He also called for a marked unit to the scene. After a brief investigation, the operator, 32-year-old Jamie Rose of East Providence, Rhode Island, was found to have a suspended license and two active arrest warrants. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense), marked lanes violation and having a broken tail light. The arrest warrants were out of Dedham District Court and Taunton District Court. Both were for operating with a suspended license.

January 16

A Needham resident came to the police station to report that he received a letter from the IRS saying that a person used his social security number to obtain employment. The IRS recommended steps to take to protect his credit. The resident had already contacted his credit bureaus to place a fraud alert on his credit.
