Hurling Eggs, Assault And Battery, And More: Needham Police Log

July 27

12:05 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to a 2nd Avenue address for a report of a group of disruptive juveniles in a parking structure. After a brief investigation, a pair of 18-year-olds from Dedham and Newton were found to be violating the civil marijuana law. The marijuana was seized for destruction and the parties were sent on their way.

3:30 p.m. - An officer responded to a reported road rage incident at Staples. It was reported that the suspect vehicle was "ramming" the other vehicle. As a result of a motor vehicle stop and investigation, TingTing Cai, 28, of China, was arrested for assault and battery dangerous weapon to wit a motor vehicle.

5:43 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to a Chestnut Street business for a reported bicycle theft. The victim stated that the bike was in a bike rack outside the building at the time of the theft and was unlocked. The area was checked with negative results. There are no suspects at this time.

11:07 p.m. - An officer responded to a Warren Street residence for a report of a past assault. The victim reported being out walking their dog between 10:30-10:45 p.m. when they were struck by eggs. The eggs had been thrown by someone in a passing vehicle. The vehicle was described as a dark colored Volvo SUV with at least two white men around 18-20 years old. A search of the area yielded no results. The incident remains open.

July 28

1:30 a.m. - An officer responded to Douglas Road for a cab fare evasion. A search of the area was conducted but offending party was never found. The driver was advised to request a copy of the report.

12:26 p.m. - A Chestnut Street resident walked into the police station to report fraud. The victim stated that an unknown party opened two credit cards under his name. The victim reported the fraud to Experian and the credit card companies.
