Indecent Assault And Battery, Stolen Jewelry: Needham Police Log

January 31
9:35 a.m. - An officer was dispatched to a Highland Avenue address for a report of jewelry stolen from the home. The incident is currently under investigation.

Officer took a report from CVS Pharmacy in regards to a lost or stolen prescription. CVS loss prevention is investigating and reviewing security footage.
An Upton resident reported that her credit card was stolen from her purse while she was at her doctor's office on Chestnut Street. The card was then used at four Needham businesses. Needham Police are investigating.

A Brighton resident reported that her car was hit while it was parked in the Beth Israel Deaconess - Needham parking lot. There were no witnesses.
3:05 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to Needham High School for a report of a narcotics violation by a student. The matter is under investigation.
A resident of Hillcrest Road reported that four sleds were taken from their yard. This occurred within the past two weeks.
February 2
A South Street resident reported that the front license plate on her car was missing. The plate was entered into CJIS as missing.
A resident of Oxbow Road reported he was the victim of a phone call scam. Needham police documented the call and Needham Bank will investigate.
A resident of Hillcrest Road reported that he had been scammed by someone claiming to represent Microsoft. The suspect claimed they could fix a virus on his computer but they wanted payment in the form of Google Play gift cards. The resident obtained gift cards before he realized he was being scammed.
5:17 p.m. - An officer responded to the area of Highland Avenue at West Street for a report of a vehicle that crashed into a water fountain. Upon the completion of the investigation the operator, a 54-year-old Framingham woman, was issued a citation for failure to use care while backing.
Officers were assigned to contact Mount Ida Police regarding an ongoing investigation of an incident that occurred at the Sheraton Hotel on Cabot Street. A warrant was obtained for an 18-year-old California man for indecent assault and battery of a person over 14. He was subsequently found and arrested.
