Koko FitClub Owner Reacts to Appearance on 'Chronicle'

Needham club featured on WCVB program

Needham's Koko FitClub was a featured business on WCVB's television program "Chronicle" Wednesday night and KoKo co-owner Paul Romeo could not be happier with what was presented.

Focusing on healthy living options, the venerable newsmagazine featured Koko as part of a fitness segment. Cameras took viewers into the club and talked about the "Smart Trainer" programs that allow members to get a personalized workout in 30 minutes time.

"We thought 'Chronicle' did a great job portraying our mission here at Koko and depicting how our workouts can really work for real people," Romeo told Needham Patch after the show aired.

Both Romeo and co-owner Adam Landry explained on 'Chronicle' that each machine can be customized and deliver results in a way that best suits any level.

"By making the exercise so doable," Romeo said, "we are motivating people to make all the necessary changes toward living a healthy lifestyle."

Pamela Norden of Needham was one of Koko's members featured on the show. The show explained that Norden,  who recently gave birth, had trouble losing her excess baby weight until joining Koko. According to Norden, the club represents a way for her to exercise and find time to be a mother at home.

"Pamela Norden was a great subject for them to focus on, as her story will likely speak to a lot of people," Romeo related. "While juggling a full time job and taking care of her two young children, she still finds time to get a great workout in at Koko."

In all, Romeo is quite pleased with the television airing, believing that "Chronicle" accurately portrayed the club's mantra that "anyone is capable of living a healthy lifestyle."

"Hopefully other Needhamites will be intrigued enough by the story to come by the club and see first hand what an effective and efficient workout we can provide," Romeo said, "to help create that healthy lifestyle."
