Lane Reductions Planned For Rt. 128 In Needham

The reductions will be in effect Sept. 23 and 24.

NEEDHAM, MA – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has announced that from 7 p.m., Saturday, September 23, through noon Sunday, September 24, Route 128/Interstate 95 North will be reduced to two lanes of travel between Central Avenue and the Route 9 interchange in Needham/Wellesley.

This travel impact is necessary in order to allow crews to safely and effectively conduct construction operations as part of the ongoing Route 128/I-95 Add-A-Lane project. All travel lanes on Route 128/I-95 southbound will be maintained during these times.

Drivers are encouraged to make informed decisions before heading out onto the roadways. Appropriate signage and messaging will be in place to guide drivers during these operations.

All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice. In case of inclement weather, operations will shift to the following weekend
