September 4
5:30 p.m. - An officer responded to a Chestnut Street address for a report of a past assault. Following a brief investigation a 62-year-old Newton resident was summoned to court for assault and battery.

An East Bridgewater resident reported he had done some work in Needham for a contractor back in July and the check he received was returned due to insufficient funds. Needham Police are investigating.
5:45 p.m. - An officer responded to a Chestnut Street business for a report of a possible shoplifting. Following a brief investigation the suspect, a 69-year-old Needham woman, was identified and agreed to make restitution to the business.

An officer responded to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center - Needham for a report of a credit card that was stolen from an employee and used for a purchase in Boston.
September 7
7:30 p.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle on Webster Street near Elder Road and after further investigation, discovered that the operator's license was suspended. A 40-year-old Needham man was issued a summons for operating with a suspended license and speeding.
