Larceny, Dog Attack, and More: Needham Police Log

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

March 27

5:15 p.m. - An officer stopped a motor vehicle in the area of 79 4th Ave. with an expired plate sticker. As a result of the stop, a 26-year-old Boston resident was issued a summons for a operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and plate sticker violation.

A resident of Savoy Road reported that someone had filed a fraudulent tax return using his identity. The IRS is investigating.

March 28

An officer responded to a Newbury Park address for a report of someone who tried to apply for a credit card using his name. The account was not approved.

10:50 a.m. - An officer responded to a Reservoir Street business on a report of unregistered motor vehicles. The owner of the business was told all the vehicles in violation will be removed by March 31.


March 29

2:00 a.m. - An officer conducted a traffic stop on Highland Avenue by West Street. An investigation revealed that the operator's license was suspended. A 23-year-old Needham man was issued a summons for operating with a suspended license.

11:00 a.m. - A walk-in reported a past incident of larceny from a bank account. The reporting party is working with his bank to secure his accounts and identify how the accounts were compromised.

March 30

7:30 a.m. - An officer stopped a motor vehicle on Great Plain Avenue near Marshall Street. After a brief investigation a 21-year-old Everett man was issued a summons for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and altering/forging an inspection sticker.

11:30 a.m. - An officer was dispatched to a 2nd Avenue address for a report of an abandoned motor vehicle. The motor vehicle was not registered. A call to the owner of the vehicle was made with negative results. The motor vehicle was red tagged and due to be removed on April 10 if the registration is not rectified.

6:30 p.m. - An officer was flagged down by a pedestrian in the area of the Broad Meadow School. The party reported that his dog was attacked by a loose dog on Richard Road. The report was forwarded to Animal Control.
