Larceny, Drugged Driving: Needham Police Log

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

March 5

2:03 p.m. - An officer responded along with other units and Needham Fire to the area of Gould Street and Kearney Road for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Upon further investigation, it was determined the one vehicle left the roadway and crashed into two parked vehicles. Derek Kunigenas, 28, of Dedham, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of drugs, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stay within marked lanes, and possession of a Class A substance.

5:45 p.m. - An officer responded to a Great Plain Avenue business for the report of a hit and run crash. The reporting party stated that someone had backed into their car approximately a half hour prior. We were able to view the incident clearly on security footage. The matter is still under investigation.

5:45 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to a Hunnewell Street address for a reported case of identity fraud.


March 6

11:00 a.m. - An officer responded to a Highland Avenue healthcare facility for a report of a past larceny. No charges were filed at this time.

March 7

Officers responded to a Hillside Avenue home for a disturbance. A man was yelling on the phone. He was advised he was breaching the peace and left without incident.


March 11

A Rosemary Street resident reported that his mountain bike was stolen from his apartment. The matter is under investigation.
