Larceny, Harassing Calls, and More: Needham Police Log

May 3

6:45 p.m. - Officers responded to a Webster Street address for the report of a past attempted breaking and entering. The reporting party stated that earlier in the day their children thought they heard someone attempting to open a side door. One of the children got a description of the person in question. The homeowner stated nothing looked out of the ordinary. A canvas of the area produced negative results. The matter is still under investigation.

2:20 p.m. - A walk-in from Douglas Road stated that he was the victim of larceny in Spain. The matter is under investigation.

5:20 p.m. - An officer took a report from a Webster Street resident regarding a past forgery. An unknown party had removed two checks from the victim's checkbook sometime early in 2017 and the checks had been paid from the victim's account without his knowledge. The matter remains under investigation.

8:10 p.m. - An officer responded to a Plymouth Road address for a report of harassing phone calls. The reporting party said that a solicitor had called them several times within a few minutes despite the reporting party declining to provide a donation. After a final phone call, the caller stopped. The reporting party wanted the incident documented in case other people reported an issue with the same caller.

May 5

3:15 p.m. - An officer responded to a Panera Bread on Highland Avenue for a report of a stolen wallet. The victim reported her brown wallet was taken out of her purse, which was on the floor next to her, while she ate lunch. The matter is under investigation.
