Larceny, Tree Trouble, And More: Needham Police Log

August 10

6:30 a.m. - An officer responded to a 1st Avenue address for a report of an attempted break-in that had happened at some point over night. Upon responding to the scene, an officer spoke with the reporting party, who stated that someone had attempted to gain access to secured storage areas at the address. The incident is currently under investigation.

12:30 a.m. - An officer conducted a security check of a 1st Avenue address and observed a large U-Haul truck exit the closed address at a high rate of speed and cross Highland Avenue against the road markings and initiated a traffic stop and of the vehicle. Based on the results of the investigation, Michael Ryan, 37, of Plymouth, an was arrested and charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime, larceny over $250, possession of burglarious tools, larceny of construction equipment, and a marked lanes violation.

3:00 p.m. - An officer responded to a Great Plain Ave residence on a report of neighbor trouble. The resident stated that his neighbor was having some trees cut down. Resident maintains that three of the trees that were cut were on his property. Resident wished to have incident documented.

August 13

2:22 p.m. - A Dedham resident reported a lost/stolen ATM card while he was at the YMCA.
