Look Out For Scammers Claiming To Be From Eversource: Needham PD
Eversource offered some tips to help customers know if someone is an Eversource employee or a scammer.

NEEDHAM, MA — Police are asking people to watch out for a scam where suspects pose as Eversource workers to get people's personal information.
On Monday, Eversource told Needham Police that there have been reports throughout the region of scammers calling customers and claiming to offer a discount on their bill for paying on time for the last six months. Police said suspects would use this fake offer to trick people into giving away personal information.
Eversource offered the following tips to help people know if someone is a scammer or an actual Eversource employee:

- Eversource representatives never ask for instant payment in person or over the phone.
- Eversource representatives do not require the use of pre-paid debit cards.
- Eversource representatives never request customers meet at a payment center, such as a department or grocery store, to make a payment.
- Eversource does not solicit door-to-door or on the phone on behalf of third-party energy suppliers.
