Placed throughout downtown Needham, each Adirondack chair has its own theme and was painted by a local artist. The chairs will be auctioned off at an event in September, with proceeds to benefit town beautification projects and local students.

Needham Patch will be profiling some of the artists behind these creations throughout the summer. Today, we chat with Charles Wright, whose chair can be seen at .

Why did you decide to participate in this project? As a business owner of Wright-Vision Graphic Designs, Murals and Sportswear, I feel the Discover Needham project is a wonderful way to use local business owners and artisans to promote shopping locally.

What was your inspiration for the piece? I am a lifelong Red Sox fan and formally the assistant art director for Twins Enterprises Inc., the sporting goods company of the Boston Red Sox (and Major League Baseball) located at Fenway Park (and now in Dedham). I decided to depict the 100 years of Fenway Park as a tribute to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Park (1912-2012).

What is background as an artist? I am the managing director of Wright-Vision and have been a graphic designer for over 25 years. My design experience is computer graphics and acrylic painting. My experience includes designing graphics for the sportswear industry and I have developed many successful designs for clients such as Coca Cola, Calvin Klein and Budweiser and sporting events such as MLB All Star Game ‘99, U.S. Open Tennis and New England Patriots Draft Day.

I have an MBA from Bentley College and a BS in Art Education from Tufts University as well as undergraduate studies at Boston Museum School and Mass College of Art.

Where can someone see more of your work? My website, http://wrightmurals.com. They can also see murals in New Garden and local businesses.
