Missing Person Found, Scams: Needham Police Log

January 27
An officer responded to a Central Avenue residence for report of a suspicious telephone call. After investigating the incident it was in fact a scam. The victim provided the caller with a password that allowed the caller to access his personal information. The victim was instructed how he could protect his identity and other information that had been compromised.

6:30 p.m. - A missing person out of Boston was located on Central Avenue near the recycling/transfer station. The party was transported back to the police station, evaluated by the Needham Fire Department and transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center - Needham. Her family was notified and arrived at the hospital to bring her home.
8:00 p.m. - A Needham resident came to the police station to report that she fell victim to a phishing email. She was advised on steps to watch her credit.
