Moms Demand Action Supports Ted Steinberg as Gun Sense Candidate

Candidate for State Representative Ted Steinberg receives coveted distinction from national gun reform group Moms Demand Action

NEEDHAM, MA – With the campaign season in full flight, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America gave Ted Steinberg their stamp of approval.

The Candidate Distinction is reserved for those who will stand up against gun violence in pursuit of common-sense legislative reform. Steinberg, a candidate for State Representative in the 13th Norfolk district (Needham, Dover, and Medfield), has years of experience working with gun violence prevention groups. Notably, he helped organize the nine-states-in-nine-days Protect All Women Tour for former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords. The tour brought together community leaders, elected officials, and law enforcement to address the correlation between firearms and domestic violence.

Recently, Steinberg called on the State House to pass H.4760, known as the “red flag” bill, which was signed into law last month. He also wrote an opinion piece advocating for the passage of universal background checks and criminal penalties for selling automatic weapons.

Steinberg released the following statement:

“From my days working with Gabby Giffords, to my time working in Congress, I have fought against the gun lobby every single day. That will not change when I am in the State House. One life lost to guns is too many. We are sick of thoughts and prayers - it's time for action! I am honored to receive this symbol of support from Moms Demand Action. Gun safety is non-negotiable.”
