More Racist Graffiti, Water Pipe Burst: Needham Police Log

December 28

10:30 p.m. - An officer responded to a Kendrick Street address to assist a stranded motorist. Arrangements were made for the motorist and the vehicle was able to be driven from the scene under its own power.

11:19 a.m. - An officer Stopped a vehicle on Highland Avenue near Second Avenue. The operator, a 54-year-old Needham woman, was issued a citation for unlicensed operation of a vehicle and operating an motor vehicle without an inspection.

January 1

6:30 a.m. - An officer was dispatched to the Wingate Residences for a report of an intoxicated man in the lobby who was refusing to leave. The person was located and the 34-year-old New Hampshire man was taken to the station in protective custody.

2:30 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to Armen Way to take a report of stolen credit cards. The victim stated that at approximately 10:55 a.m., his credit card and debit card were stolen from his motor vehicle. The incident is under investigation.

4:20 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to a Highland Avenue business to assist Needham Fire with a box alarm. Needham Fire determined a sprinkler and water pipe had burst inside setting off the alarm.

January 2

An officer was informed that racially offensive graffiti was located in a bathroom at Pollard Middle School. The matter is under investigation and precautions are being put in place for future prevention.

An officer was dispatched to a business on Highland Avenue for a report of suspicious packages that had been sent to them. The items were determined to be gag gifts.
