Motorcyclist Charged Following Chase in Needham

Shea Dalton, 20, of Needham, drove over two lawns in an attempt to escape pursuing officers.

An unlicensed motorcyclist from Needham is facing multiple charges after a reckless attempt to evade pursuing police officers in the area of Webster Street and Hillside Avenue.

Shea Dalton, 20, was charged with speeding, failure to stop for a police officer, using a motor vehicle without authority, and operating a motorcycle without being properly licensed.

On Friday afternoon, police observed Dalton traveling at 48 mph in a 30 mph zone. An officer attempted to stop Dalton, but he fled the area, police say.

Dalton drove over two lawns, got off his motorcycle, and attempted to hide in a flower garden behind a house of Avery Street, police say.

Police caught up to Dalton and arrested him.

Upon further investigation, it was learned that Dalton was not licensed to operate a motorcycle. Additionally, police determined the motorcycle was not his and that he took it without the owner’s permission.
