NEEDHAM, MA — A police emergency in Roslindale has caused delays and cancellations on the MBTA's Needham Line.

Here are the latest updates from the MBTA:
- As of 6:06 p.m., the 4:45 p.m. outbound train was stopped at Roslindale Village due to police activity but left the station at 6:30 p.m and will stop at West Roxbury. Passengers will be accommodated by the 5:56 p.m. outbound train.
- The 5:04 p.m. inbound train is stopped near West Roxbury Station and is expected to operate 15-25 minutes late, the MBTA said.
- The 5:27 p.m. outbound train from South Station has been canceled.
- The 5:45 p.m. inbound train from Needham has been canceled.
- The 5:56 p.m. outbound train was stopped near Forest Hills and is operating 20-35 minutes late.

State Police say, and numerous reports confirm, shots have been fired, possibly involving state troopers, on Newburgh Street, in Roslindale.
