Newton Police: Needham Driver Struck Two Teens
An elderly Needham woman was behind the wheel of a vehicle that hit a pair of pedestrians near the intersection of Walnut Street and Madison Avenue in Newton on Monday, March 19

Two teens were taken to the hospital Monday afternoon after they were struck by an elderly Needham driver near the intersection of Walnut Street and Madison Avenue in Newtonville.
According to Newton Police Lt. Bruce Apotheker, a 17-year-old female was transported to Children's Hospital Boston after she was struck and thrown up onto the car.
A 19-year-old male was also struck and taken to where he was treated and released.

Both teens suffered non life-threatening injuries, Apotheker said.
Apotheker said the incident happened just before 3 p.m. Monday and involved an 82-year-old female driver from Needham. Police have not pressed charges against the driver, but the incident is still under investigation, he said.
