Needham Farmers Market Holds 'Tomato Fest'

Come sample the tastes of summer at the Needham Farmers Market and bring home your favorite! Sunday, August 21 is Tomato Fest and we will have various types of heirloom and prize- winning tomato samples for you to try. Center Café will also be serving lunch for everyone from 12 to 1:30.

Sweet, fresh picked corn on the cob still on special this week…Mac’s Dozen is really 14 ears of corn for only $3! Mac Arthur will also have squash and zucchini on sale for 50 cents/pound!! MacArthur Farm will return this week with their specialty Asian vegetables including water spinach, Tribou Vietnamese squash, eggplant, green and red peppers, Chioggia beets, and colored carrots, as well as their prize-winning tomatoes, wax and green beans, pickling cucumbers, radishes, greens, various types of lettuce, rhubarb, herbs, zucchini, cousa, summer squash, sugar snap and shell peas, carrots, scallions, golden and red beets and of course, sweet strawberries, local and Maine blueberries and Acres Honey. Now a favorite, MacArthur Farm is also sellig delicious and fresh, baked the same day Framingham Baking Co. Italian and French bread and rolls that have no preservatives.

Neighborhood Farm will have new types of heirloom tomatoes, their famous garlic in many new flavors and varieties, potatoes, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, cherry tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, sugar snap peas, romaine lettuce, red and green lettuce, Italian kale, green curly kale, Swiss Chard, cauliflower, broccoli, rainbow chard, kohlrabi, nappa cabbage, and multi-colored corn for popping.

Vendors at the Market this Sunday include MacArthur Farm, Neighborhood Farm, Boston Sword and Tuna, Deano’s Pasta, Fundamentally Nuts, Barefoot Books, and Cookie Lady Treats.

Tom Pugh will be filling the Market with music. Joan Cameron will be back with her beautiful works of art, including handmade jewelry and gifts, as well as colorful painting on display. Located behind the Needham Bank in Needham Center, the Needham Farmers Market is open on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
