Needham Girls Soccer Honored for Top Fundraisers for American Cancer Society
The girls were tops for high school fundraisers for the Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

For the second year, the Needham High School Girls soccer program committed to a season-long campaign for breast cancer awareness, raising funds for the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event held on Sunday, Oct. 5.
The girls were honored at the Hatch Shell in Boston, recognized as the top high school fundraiser.

The soccer program raised more $9,500 for the cause so far in this year’s campaign.
“In 2013 the girls had close to 600 sponsors who pledged donations to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer for every goal and shut out they attained throughout the season,” they wrote on their fundraising page. “The girls ended up winning the Boston Strides High School Challenge and raised an incredible $29,027.45 for breast cancer research, programs, services, and screenings for women who need it.”
