Needham Officers Receive Responder Recognition Awards

Five police officers were awarded for providing medical assistance to save a life.

Five officers from the Needham Police Department were presented with awards for going above and beyond their duties by rendering medical assistance to a person in need, announced Chief Philip Droney in a statement Monday.

The Municipal Police Training Committee recognized Roger Noll, Vincent Turco, Matthew Palmer, Leo Schlittler and Officer Frongillo during a ceremony on June 11.

The ceremony was held at Bentley University. 59 officers from 24 departments were honored at the event.

The awards indicate that the officers were able to demonstrate their CPR training in a beneficial and life-saving manner.

Officer Noll came to the aid of a choking woman on Christmas Day last year. Officers Palmer and Turco saved the life of a distraught man after they were called to his home. Officers Frongillo and Schlitter responded to a driver who accidentally crashed into a building.
