Needham Police: 3 Stolen Bikes Found; Numerous Fraud Reports; Person Reports Stolen Trash; Pumpkins and Windows Smashed

The following are excerpts from the Needham police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Nov. 3

  • At 1:50 a.m., police recovered three bicycles from a Great Plain Ave. address. They match the report of stolen bikes.
  • At 8:15 p.m., a person walked into headquarters reporting that an unknown person made a large purchase using one of his checks. The person said he was already dealing with fraud investigations from TD Bank.

Tuesday, Nov. 4

  • At 2:07 a.m., police towed two cars in the area of Reservoir Street for being parked without registration
  • at 10:59 a.m., police took a report from a person saying that his Verizon account had been hacked. Someone tried to open new phone lines using his name and account number.
  • At 12:20 p.m., police responded to Sachem Road for a report of larceny. Two barrels full of trash and six empty cardboard boxes were taken from the reporting party’s garage
  • At 12:45 p.m., police responded to Highland Ave. for a report of an unwanted party on the premises. The suspect was a recent terminated employee that was escorted off. Lapels of Needham.
  • At 6:40 p.m., police responded to 53 Manning St. for a report of recent vandalism. Pumpkins were smashed in the front yard and it broke a basement window.

  • At 12:04 p.m., police responded to 31 Fair Oaks Pk. for a report of people leaving miscellaneous items on the property. Since October, the owner says kids have been leaving items to annoy him and his family.
  • at 1:20 p.m., police took a fraud report from a resident on Webster Street. The person said that it’s been an ongoing issue.
  • At 4:10 p.m., an Oxbow Road resident reported that her green card and social security card were either lost or stolen
