Needham Police Log: 2nd OUI, Revoked Registration, and More

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

July 1

11:25 a.m. - An officer responded to a vehicle that hit a fence while backing up at the Chapel Street Lot. The operator of the vehicle did not stop but was identified and made aware of the damage.

8:00 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to a Highland Avenue business for the report of a female erratically operating her motor vehicle and stumbling through the parking lot. Upon arrival, police observed a female operating a blue Lincoln SUV matching the description of the reported vehicle. After initiating a motor vehicle stop in a Garden Street parking lot and upon further investigation, Jayne Malone, 53, of Needham was arrested and charged with her second drunken driving offense.

8:30 p.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle at Webster Street and Highland Avenue. The operator, a 16-year-old Needham male only had him learner's permit and had three other Needham juveniles in the car with him. The father of the operator came to the scene to take custody of his vehicle and the four juveniles. The parents of the other juveniles were notified and the operator was cited for operating a motor vehicle without being licensed.

A Needham resident responded to the police station to a report that she was a victim of identity theft. She was made aware when she received a collection notice from Comcast for $611.00 for service in Irving N.J where she does not have a home.

July 3

5:10 p.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle on A Street. The plate status was revoked for insurance cancellation. The owner, a 21-year-old Norwood male, was issued a citation for allowing operation of a motor vehicle after registration revocation and allowing uninsured operation of a motor vehicle. The vehicle was towed.

9:30 p.m. - While at the intersection of Highland and Oakland Avenues, an officer was informed by a pedestrian of a female party leaning against the building at 1241 Highland Ave. They located the female party, a 15-year-old Needham female who was intoxicated. She was transported to Beth Israel Needham in protective custody. A 19-year-old woman from Needham was charged with furnishing alcohol as a result of further investigation.
