Needham Police Log: Assault and Battery, Larceny, and More

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

July 14

5:00 p.m. - An officer responded to Fay Lane for a reported sick animal. The animal was sick or injured, and needed to be dispatched.

11:15 p.m. - Officers responded to 845 Highland Ave. for a reported disturbance involving a tow truck operator and a vehicle owner during a trespass tow. After further investigation, the vehicle owner Anthony Manzo, 40, of Hudson, was arrested for assault and battery, and disorderly Conduct.

July 15

2:30 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to McDonald's for a reportedly damaged sign at the driveway entrance. The manager stated that when he came into work this morning he observed that the entry sign at the corner of the driveway entrance, had been damaged. It was unclear whether the sign may have been struck by a vehicle, or if had been vandalized. The plastic housing on one side of the sign was missing, and the other side had been damaged. No suspects at this time.

3:15 p.m. - An officer took a walk-in report of credit card fraud. The reporting party stated that she gave her credit card information to someone who claimed to work for Verizon. After giving the information, she received multiple fraudulent charge notifications from her bank. The reporting party was advised to cancel her credit cards and not to give out her credit card information over the phone to unknown parties.

July 16

5:40 p.m - An officer stopped a vehicle on Highland Avenue near Wexford Street that had almost collided with the officer's cruiser as it exited Speedway Gas. The operator had a suspended license. A 27-year-old male from Duxbury received a summons to Dedham District Court for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

July 17

3:54 pm - Officers were dispatched to Greendale Avenue at Parker Street for a report of a suspicious male stealing mail from houses in the area. After a check of the area, the suspect was located and identified. A 35-year-old man from Boise, Idaho was charged with larceny under $250.
