Needham Police Log: Backyard Car Crash, House Break-in, and More

December 2

10:00 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to Lehigh Road to investigate a report of a past attempted house break. No entry was gained to the residence.

December 3

12:30 p.m. - A resident of Webster Green reported that their personal information had been used to open a Comcast account in New Jersey. The reporting party has notified Comcast and credit reporting agency.

December 4

8:00 a.m. - A resident of Denmark Lane reported that someone had attempted to open a credit card using his identity. He saw the attempt and notified his bank in time to have the attempt blocked.

11:30 a.m. - Officers responded to a vehicle that crashed through a backyard fence on Mellen Street. At the scene, police found two motor vehicles with major damage, including one in the backyard up against a tree. Two sections of the fence had been damaged near the sidewalk on the Webster Street side. Minor injuries were reported. The crash is under investigation.

11:30 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to the area of Central Avenue near the RTS on report of the deer struck by a motor vehicle. The injured deer was observed on Central Avenue across from Starr Ridge Road. The deer was badly injured and it was determined that the animal needed to be put down.
