Needham Police Log: Car Abandoned After Crash, Assault, and More

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

April 8

7:30 p.m. - Officers responded to a Pine Grove residence for a report of a noise complaint. Upon arrival, officers found a large group of minors drinking alcohol. All parties were released to their parents and two 18-year-olds from Needham will be summonsed to court for possession of alcohol and furnishing a place for minors to drink.

2:30 p.m. - An officer responded to the Needham Sheraton Hotel for a report of a suspicious guest. After speaking with management it was determined there was no crime at that time. Management was advised to speak with the Sheraton legal counsel in regards to sending the guest a letter of dis-invite.

10:00 p.m. - Officers were dispatched to the area of Glenwood Road near the rear of the Pollard Middle School for the report of many intoxicated youths walking around the area. The youths were identified and released to responsible adults. A 14-year-old Needham male was summonsed for minor in possession of alcohol as a result of the incident.

April 10

12:30 a.m. - An officer came upon a white Honda SUV in the intersection of Highland Avenue and Oakland Avenue that had been involved in a single car motor vehicle crash. There was no one present at the scene and the vehicle had been abandoned in the intersection after having sustained heavy damage as a result of the crash. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Roadside Rescue and the crash remains under investigation by the Needham Police at this time.

April 11

A Newton resident told police that someone may have taken his wife’s bag from a Highland Avenue restaurant Needham Police are investigating.

8:30 p.m. - An officer took a report from a walk-in to the station regarding a past assault that allegedly occurred earlier in the day at Sudbury Farms on Highland Avenue. The incident is currently under investigation.
