Needham Police Log; Disorderly Conduct, Vandalism, and More

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

November 5

2:10 a.m. - An officer responded to Stockdale Road for a report of taxi fare evasion. Three adult white males described as in their early 20's, wearing jeans, long sleeve shirts and having short hair left a taxi without paying. A sweep of the area yielded no results. There are no suspects.

November 7

6:25 p.m. - A Needham women walked into the station to report identity fraud. An unauthorized Verizon cell phone account was opened in her name. The women was advised to notify her credit institutions and banks for potential fraud. A report was taken and she was advised in how to to acquire the report to close the false account.

9:15 p.m. - An officer responded to Warren Street for a report of vandalism to a mailbox. The homeowner reported that an unknown number of kids were walking by and broke her mailbox from the post. The area was checked and no one was found in the area.

November 8

12:00 p.m. - An officer responded to a vandalized mailbox on Warren Street. The mailbox was removed from the base near the front walkway and found near the train station on Junction Street this morning. A similar incident was reported on Nov. 7 a few houses away.

2:00 p.m. - An officer responded with the Needham Fire Department to a Ware Road residence for a report of a kitchen fire. The resident reported that a fire started while cooking in the kitchen. Firefighters extinguished the fire. The damage was limited to smoke damage in the kitchen. The home was still inhabitable.

10:30 p.m. - An officer was dispatched for a well being for a person who was sitting in a motor vehicle and vomiting in front of 850 Highland Ave. After an investigation, Nikki Anderson, 59, of Lexington, was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor.

November 9

9:00 a.m. - An officer responded to a TV Place address on report of a suspicious motor vehicle at that location. Upon arrival, the vehicle had already left the scene but a description of the vehicle was provided to the other police units on duty. This same vehicle did arrive at the police station several minutes later and after a brief encounter with multiple officers. Following the encounter, Kathleen Urban, 50, of Sharon, was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct.
