Needham Police Log: Dog Bite, Car Break-in, and More

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

September 27

11:30 a.m. - An officer responded to a Highland Avenue address on a reported a past theft of three credit cards. The victim reports that the credit cards were taken from her pocketbook while she was at work. Three of the cards were used at Macy's department store in the Natick Mall. This is under investigation.

7:10 p.m. - An officer conducting traffic enforcement at the intersection of Great Plain Avenue and Chestnut Street observed a vehicle take a right on Dedham Avenue during a steady red light at the intersection of Great Plain and Dedham Avenues. After conducting a motor vehicle stop and a subsequent investigation, a Michael Cloutier, 27, of Somerville, was arrested on a default warrant out of Somerville District Court and given a verbal warning for the red light.

A Boston resident report that her car was struck while it was parked at a Highland Avenue business.

September 28

An officer responded to a Taylor Street address for a dog bite call. A report was taken and forwarded to the Animal Control Officer for follow up.

September 29

8:20 a.m. - An Officer responded to a Woodledge Road address for a report of a breaking and entering into a motor vehicle. The matter is under investigation.

11:00 a.m. - An officer on patrol in the area of Highland Avenue and Highland Terrace stopped a motor vehicle for defective equipment. After further investigation, it was determined that the operator had an active warrant out of Dedham District Court. The operator, Shawn Fitzgerald, 26, of Norwood, was arrested.

A Needham resident told police that her son's bicycle was stolen from the bike rack at the Pollard School. The matter is under investigation.
