Needham Police Log: Dog Bites, Car Crash, and More
The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

November 18
9:30 a.m. - A resident of Richardson Drive reported an incident of identity fraud. The reporting party stated that two credit cards were opened in her name. The reporting party had advised the FTC of the incident.
5:30 p.m. - An officer stopped a motor vehicle on 2nd Avenue near Highland Avenue. The operator, a 28-year-old North Reading woman, was cited and will be summoned to Dedham District Court for operating with a suspended license. A friend came and picked up the operator and the vehicle.

10:20 p.m. - An officer encountered a motor vehicle parked on Webster Street. Upon speaking with the operator, a 22-year-old Needham man, the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana. The operator was found to be in possession of marijuana and was issued a civil citation for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

12:30 p.m. - A resident of Central Avenue reported an incident of check cashing fraud. He was sent a check to deposit and instructed to send money to other people, which he did. The check was later found to be fraudulent.
A Murphy Road resident reported that her car had been hit while parked across the street from the Needham Community Council at 570 Hillside Ave. This occurred on Nov. 19 around 12:10 p.m. The other vehicle, a grey minivan, left the scene without identifying themselves.
4:00 p.m. - An officer responded to Highland Avenue at 2nd Avenue for a vehicle rollover. The vehicle was traveling west on Highland Avenue and struck several sand filled crash barrels, causing it to flip onto its passenger side where it came to a rest. The operator was uninjured but trapped in the vehicle and was freed by Needham fire. The operator said the solar glare was blinding and that caused her to strike the barrels which the officer confirm at the scene.
November 21
2:00 p.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle on Highland Avenue near Hunting Road. The vehicle had revoked registration and the vehicle owner was not present. The vehicle was towed. A citation was mailed to the registered owner, a 30-year-old Boston man, for allowing operation of a motor vehicle with revoked registration, allowing uninsured operation of a motor vehicle, and having an expired inspection sticker. The operator was not cited and the vehicle was towed.
2:00 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to an Allen Street address for a report of a party who passed a bad check to a cab driver. The cab driver stated that the suspect ran into his house and said he would get another check, but fled. The suspect will be summoned to court and charged with larceny by check under $250.
3:15 p.m - An officer responded to a reported dog bite at Needham High School. The student was running in the woods by Rosemary Lake when two off leash dogs bit the student's leg. The owner took the dogs and left the area without identifying himself. The dogs were described as mini Labradors, one black and the other tan/gray.
