Needham Police Log: Drug Possession, House Fire, and More

November 21
4:40 p.m. - An officer responded to 7-Eleven for a report of an argument between an employee and customer over change. The issue was resolved and the customer left the store.

10:00 p.m. - A walk-in at the police station said that someone had stolen their wallet while at a business on Highland Avenue. The reporting party stated that fraudulent charges were also made on her credit cards after this.

2:30 p.m. - Needham Police responded to Harris Avenue for a motor vehicle crash into a tree. The vehicle involved, a dump truck, was severely damaged. No injuries were reported on scene. As a result of further investigation, the operator of the truck, Christopher Deberry, 29, of Dedham, was arrested and charged with five counts of possession of narcotics, operating to endanger, and a marked lanes violation.
November 25
2:30 a.m. - An officer responded to a Marshall Street address for a report of smoke in a home. The Needham Fire Department responded, determined a fire was present in the home, and extinguished it after approximately two hours without issue.
5:00 p.m. - Officers responded to a South Street address for a disturbance. One of the involved people, a 49-year-old Needham man, was intoxicated and taken into protective custody.
10:40 p.m. - Officers responded to Seven-11 on Highland Avenue for a report of shoplifting. The matter is currently under investigation.
