Needham Police Log: Fake Car Repair Promise, Car vs. Bike, and More

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges don't imply conviction.

May 6

9:30 a.m. - An officer stopped a motor vehicle for speeding in the area of 160 Gould St. The operator, a 34-year-old female from Somerville, will be summonsed to Dedham District court to face charges for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding.

10:00 a.m. - Officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle vs cyclist accident on Central Avenue at Parish Road. Dispatch stated that the person that called observed what appeared to be a cyclist who was down and appeared to be hurt. The bicyclist refused medical treatment on scene and a report was filed.

5:30 p.m. - An officer took a report from a walk-in party. The reporting party stated that while she was driving, she observed a suspicious act at a Cleveland Road address. The incident still currently under investigation.

7:40 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of a past vandalism at a Hillside Avenue residence. The matter is currently under investigation.

May 8

9:00 a.m. - An officer responded to a Hunnewell Street address for a past larceny. The victim told police that during the previous day, a male party accompanied by a female pulled into her driveway in his truck and offered to do body work on her vehicle. The victim gave him a $100 cash and they went into the house to discuss business. The female party used the bathroom and was accompanied by the male party. They both left promising to return to do the bodywork soon. The victim then noticed jewelry was missing from her bedroom. The male and female never returned and the matter is under investigation.
