Needham Police Log: Hit and Run, Warrant Arrests, and More
The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

October 11
3:05 p.m. - An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a red light on Great Plain Ave in Needham Square. After it was determined the operator had no license, Claudinei DeOlivera Cardoso, 36, of Framingham, was placed under arrest for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop for a red traffic signal. Cardoso was also arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Marlborough District Court for unlicensed operation.

1:00 a.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle on Highland Avenue near West Street. The operator, a 39-year-old Needham male, had a suspended license and will be summonsed to Dedham District Court for operating with a license suspension. That party's vehicle was secured and he was given a courtesy transport to his home.
8:00 a.m. - A Longfellow Road resident told police that she had had an accident in front of her home but that the driver did not provide her with any license information or even name or date of birth. Upon further investigation, it was discovered the vehicle that had left the scene belongs to a local landscaping company. By way of the owner of the company, police were able to locate the operator of the vehicle. As a result of the investigation a 22-year-old Waltham man will be summoned to Dedham District Court for leaving the scene of a property damage crash.

October 13
2:30 p.m. - An officer pulled a vehicle over on Dedham Ave. After a brief investigation the operator Natielson Santos, a 25 year old Fall River resident was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. There was also a warrant out of Dudley District Court for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. He was transported to the police station and his vehicle was towed.
3:00 p.m. - An officer arrested Paulo Paes, 44, of Fall River, for an outstanding default warrant for larceny over $250. Paes was a passenger in a vehicle in which the operator had been arrested.
5:00 p.m. - An officer initiated a motor vehicle stop for a vehicle bearing a stolen plate. Without any results from the VIN search, the attached plates registering as stolen, and incomplete and missing paperwork required for registration swapping (including no legitimate plates), the plate was removed from the vehicle and the vehicle was towed. This incident is still under investigation.
