Needham Police Log: Home Egged, Man Struck by Car, and More

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

November 1

7:30 a.m. - An officer was dispatched to Highland Avenue near Route 128 South for a report of a possible past fraud involving a debit card. The matter is currently under investigation

12:00 p.m. - An officer took a walk-in report of an incident of credit card fraud. The reporting party stated that he used an ATM at a Highland Avenue address and was later advised that his account was compromised due to the transaction.

2:30 p.m. - An officer took a walk-in report of a past incident of identity fraud. The reporting party stated that his information was used to open up a cell phone account.

2:30 p.m. - An officer on selective enforcement in the area of Highland Avenue and Riverside Street observed a gray sedan displaying an expired inspection sticker. After speaking with the operator, it was later determined that the registration status of the vehicle was suspended. The operator, a 29-year-old Boston man, was cited and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and operating a motor vehicle with no inspection sticker. The vehicle was then towed and secured from the scene.

4:30 p.m. - An officer in the area of 71 4th Ave. stopped a red sedan for speeding. The operator, identified as Nelimar Gomes, 37, of Lawrence could not produce a valid driver’s license and was arrested for operating with suspended and speeding.

November 2

1:00 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to a Prospect Street address for a report of a past incident of vandalism. The reporting party stated that sometime during the evening of Halloween, several eggs were thrown at her residence.

1:30 p.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle on Highland Ave near West St The operator's license was suspended. The operator, a 29-year-old Brookline woman, was issued a citation for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license suspension. A co-worker arrived to the scene to drive the vehicle away.

November 2

2:45 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to an office on First Avenue office for a report of an unwanted person. The person was no longer there. An employee stated the male person has been calling and emailing the company, and today showed up uninvited. The person was called and advised not return to the building. The employee will send a letter of dis-invite to the person.

November 4

12:10 p.m. - An officer responded to Highland Avenue at the Town Hall crosswalk for a pedestrian that was struck by a motor vehicle. The victim, 66 year-old Needham woman, was transported to Beth Israel Needham. The operator, an 85-year-old Needham man, was issued a citation for passing another vehicle which has stopped at a marked crosswalk to permit a pedestrian to cross.
