Needham Police Log: Larceny, Fallen Tree, and More

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

October 14

10:30 a.m. - An officer took a fraud report from a Central Ave resident. The matter is under investigation.

11:55 a.m. - The President of an HVAC company based in Norwood reported that one of his employees had purchased equipment from a Gould Street company using their customer purchase numbers without their permission. As a result, the employee, a Weymouth resident, will be charged with larceny over $250.

12:15 p.m. - An officer pulled a vehicle over on 2nd Avenue. A records check indicated the operator, Amando Cruz, 44, of Boston, had a default warrant out of Natick District Court. Cruz was placed into custody, booked, and transported to Dedham District Court.

9:30 p.m. - An officer stopped a motor vehicle on Chestnut Street for operating with a revoked registration. A 47-year-old Needham resident will be summoned to Dedham District Court to face charges.

October 15

7:30 a.m. - An officer observed a vehicle operating on Bradford Street near Harris Avenue. A check of the vehicle's registration through the RMV showed that the operator had a suspended license. Following a brief investigation, the operator, a 32-year-old Waltham man, was summoned to court for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

5:30 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to a Murphy Road residence to take a property damage report. The reporting party stated that a tree fell from town-owned property onto private property, causing heavy damage to a yard, fence and vehicle. Damage consistent with this incident was also discovered at an adjacent property. The damage was documented and the appropriate town departments will be notified.

October 16

8:00 p.m. - Police took an identity theft report from a Booth Street resident. A person reportedly a credit card that was fraudulently opened in his name. The matter is currently under investigation by his banking institution.
