Needham Police Log: Larceny, Vehicle Break-in, and More

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges do not imply conviction.

March 28

9:00 p.m. - An officer observed a motor vehicle traveling southbound in the area of 200 Highland Ave. The vehicle was stopped for an equipment violation and police discovered the operator, 51-year Quincy man, had a suspended license. He will be summoned to Dedham District Court for operating with a suspended license and equipment violation.

3:30 p.m. - An officer responded to a William Street residence for a report of a past larceny. The reporting party stated that they were away for a week and when they returned they noticed jewelry items missing from their residence. The matter is still under investigation.

3:45 p.m. - Officers responded to a First Avenue business parking garage for reports of a hit and run. After further investigation, it was determined that it was not a hit and run but an attempted break to the vehicle. No access was gained and there are currently no suspects.

6:15 p.m. - An officer took a report from a Roche Bros employee regarding a fake $20 bill that was recovered at the store. The bill was seized as evidence and the United States Secret Service was notified.

7:00 p.m. - An officer stopped a motor vehicle on Highland Avenue in the area of First Avenue. As a result of an investigation, Joao Rodrigues, 39, of Randolph, was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and a red light violation.

12:45 p.m. - An officer was approached in a Brother's Pizza on Reservoir Street regarding threats to the business. The reporting party, who is an employee and part owner of the business, told police that a customer threatened her regarding an order. The customer has been no-trespassed from the business and is no longer welcome there. The reporting party will also be sending a formal letter of dis-invite against the customer.
