Needham Police Log: Man Injured After Falling from Tree, Road Rage Incident, and More

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned do not imply conviction.

March 1

12:00 p.m. - Officers were dispatched to a Jarvis Circle residence for a report of a male party who had fallen from a tree. The victim was being treated by Needham Fire Department personnel transported to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston for treatment. He was doing contracted tree work on the property. OSHA was notified and responded to investigate.

An Officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on Webster St. It was determined that the vehicle's registration was revoked. The vehicle was towed and the registration plates were seized. The operator, a 21-year-old male from Needham, received a summons for operating a vehicle with a revoked registration and speeding.

March 2

11:00 a.m. - An Officer stopped a Motor Vehicle on Greendale Ave. The operator, Rolando Berganza, a 58-year-old Waltham male, was arrested for unlicensed operation. Berganza was handed a citation and the vehicle was towed from the scene. Additionally, The registered owner of the vehicle, a 32-year-old Waltham male, is being charged with permitting unlicensed operation and revoked registration. A citation was handed to and signed by his agent for delivery.

March 3

8:45 a.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle on Second Avenue for an inspection sticker violation. The operator, a 34-year-old man from New Hampshire, will be summoned to court for operating after suspension.

9:30 a.m. - Officers responded to a High Street address for a report of identity fraud. The resident reported that someone filed a tax return using his social security number. He was provided with information regarding preventing against and reporting identity theft and a report was taken documenting the attempted fraud. He was also advised to contact his financial institutions and one of the three major credit monitoring institutions to check for any further fraudulent activity.

3:00 p.m. - A resident on Cranberry Lane told police that he had sent a money order via the U.S. Postal Service to Texas. The money order did not make it to the desired recipient. The Postal Inspection Service is investigating.

8:00 p.m. - An officer responded to the intersection of Highland Avenue and Webster Street for a road rage incident. Both parties calmed down and left the scene in separate directions without further incident.
