Needham Police Log: OUI, Hit and Run, and More
The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

August 29
6:05 p.m. - An officer responded to a Birds Hill address on a reported fraud. The reporting party indicated that he received a computer from Best Buy that he did not purchase. After calling them to return the computer to a New York address, FedEx came to pick up the package. Best Buy said they use UPS, not FedEx for shipping. Best Buy also does not have a store in that part of New York. The value of the computer is about $1,400.

An employee of PETCO on Highland Avenue reported that her wallet was stolen from her pocketbook while she was at work. Needham police are investigating.
5:45 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to the parking lot on Chapel Street for the report of a woman who appeared to be intoxicated and asleep in the driver's seat of her vehicle. Officers arrived and she was still sleeping and the engine was running. They woke her up and she showed obvious signs of intoxication. Kathleen Walker, 60, of Needham, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol.

8:30 p.m. - An officer responded to the area of Highland and Second Avenues for the report of a hit and run crash. The reporting party who stated that a vehicle was pulling out of a parking lot and hit his car as he was traveling south on Highland Ave. The vehicle did not stop and continued on Highland Avenue towards Newton. The offending vehicle returned to the scene while the officer was processing the crash.
