Needham Police Log: Property Damage Crash, Credit Card Fraud, and More

June 6
12:30 p.m. - A Richardson Drive resident told police that some items were stolen from his home during construction. He suspects that a worker may have taken the items. Police are investigating.

June 7
1:25 a.m. - Officers were dispatched to a Whittier Road residence for a report of a loud disturbance and people on the roof. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that an underage drinking party was in progress. The parent's of the youths present were notified. A 19-year-old female who lives at the house where the party took place will be charged with furnishing alcoholic beverages to minors.

9:30 a.m. - An officer picked up a license plate from a party that found it laying in the road on Nehoiden Street. Upon further investigation, I determined that the plate came off a vehicle that had damaged town property and left the scene earlier in the morning. A 24-year-old Needham male will be summoned to Dedham District Court for leaving the scene of a property damage crash and failure to stay within marked lanes.
9:46 a.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on Nehoiden Street. It was determined that the operator, a 48-year-old Hyde Park male, had a suspended license. He will be summoned to Dedham District Court for operating with a suspended license and speeding. The vehicle was towed.
June 8
An officer spoke with a resident on Great Plain Avenue who believed that there may have been fraudulent activity on his credit card. The matter is under investigation.
5:00 p.m. - An officer responded to a Hunting Road address for a report of identity theft. The reporting party stated that over the past month, someone has tried to use her personal information to open credit cards and make purchases with her credit cards. Someone has also tried to have her mail forwarded to another address.
