Needham Police Log: Raccoon Fight, Theft, and More
The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

October 3
10:20 a.m. - An officer responded to a Central Avenue address for a report of fraud. The resident believed that they were participating in a raffle. Family members were able to stop other larger transfers from taking place. The resident was advised that the matter was a scam.
1:20 a.m. - A Needham business reported that they had received a check which was returned due to insufficient funds. Needham police are investigating.

1:20 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to Jos. A Bank on Highland Avenue for a report of a theft from the building. The reporting party stated that a white male entered the staff office and stole money and a cell phone from a pocketbook during business hours.
October 4

1:20 p.m. - An officer responded to a Meetinghouse Circle address for a report of fraud. The resident had received mail indicating that a credit account had been opened in her name. She had already notified the company to inform them that the account was fraudulent. I advised her to request a copy of her credit report, and to place a fraud alert with the credit bureaus.
2:30 p.m. - An officer responded to a Chestnut Street address for a report of damage done to a resident’s door while having work done to it. The worker was asked to leave the property and another company was called in to fix the work and damages.
October 5
Officers responded to a Valley Road resident who had a dog that was involved in a fight with a raccoon. The dog was not injured and the raccoon was deceased. The raccoon was removed from the property.
5:00 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to Pollard Middle School for a report of stolen bicycles. The matter is under investigation.
